In here I will bullet point my rules on how I run my campaigns.
- Health Potions Cost a Bonus Action
- Spells Do Not Require Materials In Inventory Unless Specifically Stated
- Detect Thoughts spell on a successful roll will result in a private DM to the player that cast it.
- Shopping CAN be done outside of the game. These will be limited to more common items, healing potions, tools, and trinkets. Simply get with me and I will do the exchange for money. Important character items like Weapons Armor, Ammo and Scrolls can be asked for, and I will add it to a list of a future merchant if i deem it acceptable. You will not be notified if the item was added or not nor does it guarantee it will show up within the next session, or the session after that, or after that. It will be random.
- Weapons of Warning and Alert feat have their functions following the normal Surprised condition. Anyone who is considered surprised will roll last on initiative.
- If a player decides that their character isnt working out how they wish. They are free to get with me to determine either a new course for the character or a way to bring in a new character to play. I will accommodate the player to ensure they continue to enjoy their playthrough. No one is forced to continue doing something they dont like.
- Please Go Here: Persuasion, Deception and the Art of Conversations too see how important npc conversations will be changed in order to let anyone have a go at important npcs.
As A DM
- All DM Rolls are hidden but contest rolls. Contest rolls will be displayed in D&D Beyond.
- I will attempt to keep the party on track, but I will not prevent the group from going about the campaign in the direction they agree to go.
- Consider me a Taxi Driver not a Beer Holder
- Example A: The Duke has been explained that they will die at a certain time. The group chooses to go to the next town over instead. The group WILL head to the next town.
- Example B: Player wishes to see if their body can take the fall after being told they will die. I will deny the action. If you wish to die, do it gloriously.
- Consider me a Taxi Driver not a Beer Holder
- Story Recaps will be made in order to keep everyone informed for the next session.
- Each Story Recap will be summarized in a brief voiced recap at the beginning of each session. Enough to jog memories.
- If it advances the story. The rules of D&D may be bent at my discretion. I WILL NOT bend the rules unfairly against the players.
- Rules are not to be bent during Important Encounters instead, these encounters will be by the book. Relying on the players to achieve victory through smart decision making.
