Vijun is the god of the Astral Plane, its creator and ruler. The Astral plane is also a very magical plane, not much different to that of the Fey Plane. However Vijuns influence of Valenaar is quite limited.
The Astral Plane is home to the most well known horror, the Mind Flayer, a being rarely seen on Valenaar. People say its due to Dureurs influence and ensuring Vijuns plane does not affect the Material Plane.
Not much can be said about Vijun, his motives are entirely foreign to the mortals of Valenaar ever since his attempted invasion of the plane many millennia ago; resulting in the craters that Rhenus and Twerrin reside in. His armies of Illithid attempted to breach the barrier, but Dureur was able to push them out before much damage was done. Since then Vijun has primarily involved himself with Syaos and the Hells.
Beholders are still found on Valenaar, these have gained a reputation of being the “Eyes” of Vijun, as they are his creation. It is not known if this is true, or are just remnants left over. Many other beasts from the Astral Plane wonder into Valenaar but their sightings are rare and there isnt enough information to gather from them.
Vijun is depicted as a white demon from the arch hells. He got his appearance due to Syaos being his lover which corrupted his original appearance. Vijun was once a long, slender, elf looking being, perhaps even a cross from one of his other creations, the Gith, but isnt clear. What is left over is an unforgettable appearance that even Archdemons aspire for.
