Sitting in the impact crater of an asteroid hitting the surface many millenial ago lies the great city of Rhenus. A massive city that uses the creavas of the crater to house the city.

Starting beyond the mountain formations are the outer city. Farmlands dominate the outerlands and help to directly feed the sprawling city within the walls. Here you will find the city of Serutil which is now integrated into the wider city.

Serutil is in of itself its own entire city, due to how large it is compared to other districts within Rhenus. There is a city council that runs on behalf of the Rhenus council and Serutil has their own city guard. Serutil sprawls along the lower lands leading to the main West Gate into Rhenus. This city does not have walls and there are no plans for them due to the rapid expansion of Serutil in the last few years.

The walls of Rhenus circle the entire crater at the highest points of the mountains. Numerous towers dot along the outer edges and are high enough to allow the imperial army to see far into the flatlands and even see the ocean from the northern towers.

There are 6 gates to enter the city.

The North Gate: This is the river gate. Its not much of a gate per-se, but is the only entrance into the city via water.

The West Gate: This is also known as the Serutil gate. There is a second gate that goes into the Lower District of Serutil from the Maximilian District within Rhenus.

The South Gate: The South Gate is considered the most important gate. The South Gate is where the Via Hedria comes into Rhenus and goes straight down into the Vahren Square. There is a second gate more towards the east that flows from the smaller outer city district of Beruthi a residential district beyond the walls.

The East Gate: The East Gate is entirely used as a trade route to Dertosa. Farmlands surround the gate entirely and along the road to Dertosa.

Rhenus as a city sprawls all around the the outer rim of land between the walls and the Rhenus Lake at the center. Farmlands occupy the east and the rest of the rim is entirely urbanized. All the roads of Rhenus are made of stone, smoothed over to easy traversal by carriages.

The most notable areas of Rhenus are:

The School of Rhenus:

The Vahren Square: This central hub is one of the largest swuares for any city and is about the size of some towns. Shops, Commerce, Weath, Trade, Events, Community all take place here. There is a shop for everything. There is an event always going on.

The Imperial Fortress: The Imperial Fortress is a huge building that served as the first Keep of Rhenus. It now houses the top officers and the city guard. Here is where people sign up to join the imperial army as well.

The Rhenus Keep: In the middle of the Rhenus Lake is a small island and the now Keep of Rhenus. Here is where the royal family resides. Many events take place here at the Emperors request. There is no access by boat to the keep except for the Military dock that sits there. Instead the Golden Bridge is how people get too and from the Keep The Golden Bridge stretches nearly half a mile over water from the Vahren Square.
